The Invention of the Freezer

Without a freezer, you wouldn’t be able to do OAMC, so that got me wondering… what did people do before freezers?

For most of history, people dug holes in the ground, lined them with wood or straw and packed it with snow and ice. Mass production of refrigerators didn’t start until after World War II. In 1947, the GE two-door refrigerator-freezer combination came onto the market. By 1955, 80% of American homes had refrigerators and by 2005, 99.5% of American homes had one.
