Shabbos Menu Plan: P’ Ki Savo (Sep 7-8)

We survived the first week of school!  Both kids have new teachers and new routines, so I’m glad that they came home happy each day.  I’m also glad that Shabbos is here.  Last week we spent almost the entire week together and today I feel like I haven’t seen them the entire week.  I can’t wait to see what everyone has learned in such a short amount of time!

After little deliberation, I came up with this simple Shabbos menu:

Friday Night:

  • Chicken Soup
  • Turkey legs, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and string beans (all made in the roaster)

Shabbos Lunch:

I know it’s technically still summer, but I’ve been in the mood for chicken soup for a while now and DH agreed to make it for me… he even made it with matza balls!  I cannot wait!

What goodies are you having this Shabbos?  Anyone else craving some hot soup?

Until next time,
Shaindy

  1. We’re having chicken and potatoes made in the crockpot. If I put it in the second I get home from work (I get out early on Fridays), it should be done by the time we’re ready for Shabbat dinner. Or maybe within half an hour of that time…

I think that I need to start a bit of KOAMC because I’m just too exhausted to make a nice meal lately.

I miss matzah ball soup, and since we’re not hosting dinner on RH, I won’t have the chance to make it. Maybe we’ll have it next week as our Shabbos dinner.

    Have a good Shabbos!

    • How do the chicken and potatoes taste from the crock pot? I’ve been experimenting with the crock pot, but don’t think I really love it yet. Just curious why you’d prefer to use the crock pot and not just throw the whole thing in the oven…
