Plan a Cooking Day: Series Introduction

planfreezercooking

As you know, one of the ways I cope with being a full-time working mom is by freezer cooking.  There are many ways to do this, but my favorite is Kosher Once A Month Cooking (KOAMC)– cook for a day, eat for a month.

Here’s why I love it:

  1. Less Mess– since all the cooking’s already been done, the only mess you have is from empty dinner plates!
  2. Faster meal prep– defrost and re-heat.  Is there anything faster?
  3. Always prepared for the unexpected– there’s always back-up dinner in the freezer ready to go
  4. Save money– buy in bulk
  5. Healthier eating- no need for for fast food.  Dinner’s already prepared

The secret to taking full advantage of your time on your KOAMC days is to PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!  Since I only spend one day a month cooking, there is a lot of planning that must go into making the most of the cooking day.

In this series, I will walk through all the steps I take to get the most out of my cooking day.  It doesn’t matter if you have an entire day or even just one hour to cook; planning in advance will maximize your cooking time!

Stay tuned for step 1…
