Look What My Parents Give Me! (Book Review)

ParentsBookReview
Recently, Artscroll contacted me to review some of their new kids books. I gladly accepted and am here today to tell you about one of their great new books.

disclaimer

Look What My Parents Give Me!, by Sarah Ginsburg, was a great book for my 3 and 5 year old boys.

The book starts off:

lwph-ex-1

from Artscroll.com

lwph-ex-2

from Artscroll.com

Then goes on to teach kids through every day actions everything their parents do for them and teach them.

This book was absolutely perfect for DS2 (3 yrs old), who isn’t in a Jewish daycare. While I thought the book was a bit “listy” it was a great way to  reinforce many of the mitzvos and actions we do every day (brachos, telling the truth, brushing teeth).  DS2 was even able to sit and listen through the entire book, which I did not expect.

After reading this book I couldn’t wait to tell my mom about it.  Not because she loves children’s books, but because she’s a pre-school teacher.  It’s a great way to get a kibbud av v’em discussion going.

Bottom line:  If you want to buy a book that teaches classic Jewish values, mitzvos and hashkafos all wrapped into one, this would be the book to buy.

Until next time,
Shaindy
