I Missed My Train (Multiple Times)

I hate commuting so much! I used to drive to work and was completely on my own schedule. Now, being a minute late can make all the difference. Even when I’m running on time I can be late, because even though I’m on time, the trains are not.

Like yesterday for example. I was on time for my morning train. Got on the connecting train and then just sat on a train for an hour. Literally an hour.

The conductor got on the loudspeaker and said that there were delays, but even after the delays were cleared up we still didn’t move. That was because at that point there was no room for us at the station. So we had to wait longer while trains cleared out of the station.

All this took an hour. It completely threw off my entire morning. Luckily I was able to get back on track by early afternoon.

Since I was so late that morning I figured I’d take the later train coming home.

No luck there either. My first train was not running on time, but I still thought I could make it to my connecting train. Usually I don’t even take this first train, but yesterday, of all days, I didn’t wear my sneakers. I was wearing these brown shoes

that I thought were really comfortable, but turned out that they are only comfortable when driving and walking very short distances. Anyway, I knew I wouldn’t be able to walk to the train station from work, so decided to take a train to the train station.

Since this train was late, I missed my connecting train, which made me miss my next connecting train. So, in all, it took me 2 hours to get to work in the morning and 2 hours to get home at night.

It was not one of my best commuting days.

Until next time,
Shaindy

  1. You might as well move to Philly. Same two hours, half the price.
