Shabbos in One Hour: Post Yom Tov

shabbos_one_hour

Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to cooking ;).  Another Shabbos is on its way and what better way to get back into the swing of things than to only spend one hour on Shabbos prep?

Here’s a simple menu that anyone could make.  Even the shopping list is simple!

The Menu

Part of the reason we have this menu is because I have meatballs in the freezer from before Rosh Hashana.  Even though I won’t have to cook them, they are a breeze to make and freeze really well in case you want to double-up on the recipe.

Shabbos Lunch:

The Shopping List

  • Ingredients for meatballs:
    • chopped turkey/meat/chicken
    • cranberry sauce
    • tomato sauce
    • onion powder
    • eggs
    • breadcrumbs
  • Red potatoes
  • String beans
  • Frozen broccoli
  • Chicken
  • Rice
  • Onion soup mix

The Plan

  1. Cook gefilte fish
  2. Prepare and cook chicken and rice
  3. Cook roasted potatoes
  4. Prepare and cook meatballs
  5. Put string beans in microwave (yes, that’s how I cook it!)
  6. Put broccoli in microwave (again, yes, that’s how I cook it!)

Wishing everyone a wonderful Shabbos!

Until next time,
Shaindy
