Shortcuts to Help Minimize Mess When Freezer Cooking

Freezer cooking has been a way of life for me. I started out by doing KOAMC (kosher once a month cooking). I’d spend one day a month cooking and freezing.

That worked until I found it hard to find that one day to cook. So I started cooking for my freezer in shorter time spurts and also cooked doubles to freeze for later. I also looked into prepping on one day for the week, but although I thought the idea was great I wasn’t really able to implement it. I recently started freezing individual meals which has been working really well for us too.

No matter how I do it there is always a mess when I’m done. Pots, utensils, peelers, etc. so after a lot of freezer cooking I was able to find shortcuts to help me keep the prep, mess and cleanup to a minimum:

♥ Use dishwasher – new rule in my house. I do not wash dishes. If it can go in the dishwasher it does. If the dishwasher is full I run it and refill.

♥ Pre-made sauce, frozen veggies – if I don’t have to make it then I don’t.

♥ Disposable bags/tins – if I don’t have to wash it, even better.

♥ Counter garbage – keep a bowl or plastic shopping bag near you for all garbage. At the end just close and dispose.

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how you do it. What’s important is that it’s easy for you and saves you time!

These are the tips that work for me. Share something that works for you!

Until next time,
Shaindy
