Superstorm Sandy: One Year Later

USA NEW YORK HURRICANE SANDY

Can you believe it’s been an entire year since Superstorm Sandy hit??  While most things in my life have returned to normal I’m still feeling some of the effects.

When the storm hit I was working on a street named Water Street.  Enough said.  There’s a reason it was called that.  Anyway, with a huge superstorm came a massively flooded building.  One which we were not allowed to enter for quite a few months afterward.

All of my stuff was trapped on the 23rd floor of the building.  The only way to get to it was to schedule time to be escorted upstairs.  Literally.  Up stairs.  Elevators were not working.

There was nothing in my desk that was worth walking up 23 flights of stairs for.

So, months later, we are still in a temporary location (which I LOVE by the way, since it cuts my commute in half) with our stuff still in boxes.

I still can’t believe how one storm can really turn your world upside down.

The great thing about blogging is that it’s like my personal diary.  I just read my posts from last year and didn’t even remember about the lines for gas!  Want to read about it?  Here are the links:

Until next time,
Shaindy
